Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week

Published: 9th February 2023

It’s National Apprenticeship Week #NAW2023 and a great opportunity to promote the important work of our apprentices!

We currently employ four apprentices at our factory in Rotherham: Lleyton Hall (electrical engineering, first year, pictured left), Joshua Wheeler (tool room apprentice, third year, pictured right), Dana Godfrey (tool room apprentice, third year) and Jake Kettleborough (procurement, first year).

All four apprentices are progressing extremely well, and Dana’s hard work and application were recognised late last year when she won the Rising Star award at the Glass Focus Awards in Liverpool!

Apprenticeships are an essential route into employment and a very helpful tool for us to ensure that we maintain a pipeline of talent into our business.

This year we expect to be running the following apprenticeships, developing existing members of staff:

  • Level 3 Supervisory Apprenticeship for four existing members of our engineering team
  • Level 5 HR
  • Level 5 Coaching

We’d like to give a special mention to the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre which works with us to train our engineering and tool room apprentices.

The AMRC works with over 300 employers across the UK which offer apprenticeship opportunities for all.
