Main Areas of Responsibility
- To ensure that job changes are effectively and efficiently complete within the agreed timescales for inspection and packing machinery and both reactive and planned maintenance is undertaken
- To ensure compliance as an individual of the company and legislative Health and Safety policy, procedure, standards and regulations
- Playing an active role in the continuous improvement management system, including:-
- determining, establishing, and setting standard procedures
- contributing to continuous improvement teams
- To ensure that machinery is maintained in a safe working condition and operating at optimum performance after any set up, adjustments or repair
- To provide an effective and efficient Breakdown service and repair of any cold end equipment. Identifying and sourcing machine spares required from the engineering stores, or supplier, and to manufacture any machine parts, brackets, fixtures or fittings required
- To provide an effective and efficient Preventative Maintenance service, via checks on machinery and job change parts for any signs of wear or possible future breakdowns, checks on safety equipment for damage and correct operations and lubrication of machines to manufacturers’ instructions
- To provide out-of-hours and weekend support as appropriate to give breakdown service and job change set up
- Any other reasonable duties as requested within skill set
Person Specification
- Flexible, self motivated, confident and innovative
- Good communication skills, team player, works well with others
- Able to work on own initiative and be open to change
- Extensive PC hardware/software skills preferred
- Apprentice trained electrical / mechanical engineer (to City & Guilds / BTEC level 3 – minimum)
- Previous experience of a production/manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of fault finding, installation and maintenance roles
- An understanding of electro-mechanical equipment operations
- Experience in the glass industry or FMCG preferred
- Working to FMCG expectations preferred
