Heartfelt congratulations to our Distribution Manager Liz Loonam, who won the Supply Chain & Logistics Excellence Award at the Women in Packaging Excellence Awards recently.
She received her award from former GB Olympic gold medallist Sally Gunnell OBE.
Liz (pictured left) went from distribution administrator to manager at Beatson Clark within seven years, and we are all proud of her progress and dedication.
“Liz has built a remarkable career grounded in hands-on leadership, operational precision, and an unwavering drive to deliver excellence,” the judges said.
Liz organises and manages her team of forklift drivers, administrators and hauliers proactively, dealing with the day-to-day requirements of a busy department split across three geographical locations while liaising with our third-party storage providers and the demands of our customers and our sales team.
The year-end audit revealed zero stock discrepancies – a huge achievement split across nine warehouses in three geographical locations and a first for Beatson Clark!
That achievement was all down to Liz, who really deserved this prestigious award win.
“Distribution at Beatson Clark is a man’s world but I love it, and I’m pleased to say I get on well with all my male colleagues and the male drivers,” Liz commented.
“I like to think I’ve improved things in my time here, and I hope winning this award will demonstrate that.”
Congratulations must also go to our Compliance Manager Emma Hudson (pictured right), who joined Liz at the awards ceremony having been nominated for the Quality Assurance Excellence Award.
Emma’s contributions to Beatson Clark have completely transformed our site and systems. She always leads by example and inspires the whole team to strive for improvements and to achieve the best standards across our systems and in audits.
She has a unique ability to get people onside, ensuring our departments all work together to accomplish our common objectives.
Her straight-talking approach and her sense of humour make her a true leader and a pleasure to work with!
