Main Areas of Responsibility
- Undertake maintenance tasks around job changes ensuring completion is within agreed timescales
- Carry our works in a manner so as to ensure compliance with both company and legislative Health and Safety policy, procedure, standards and regulations
- Playing an active role in the continuous improvement management system, including
-Establishing, setting and standard procedures
- Contributing to continuous improvement teams
- To ensure that machinery is in safe working order after any adjustments or repairs
- To provide an effective and efficient Breakdown service, involving the location and repair of any hot end breakdowns, placing orders for machine spares required from the engineering stores or manufacturing any machine parts, brackets, fixture and fittings required
- To provide an effective and efficient Preventative Maintenance service, via checks on machinery parts for any signs of wear or possible future breakdowns, checks on safety equipment for damage and correct operations and lubrication of machines to manufacturer’s instructions
- Workshop repair of variable equipment and mechanisms
- Any other reasonable duties as required within skill set
Person Specification
- It is essential to be an Apprentice trained mechanical engineer
- Desirable would be to have electrical skills (BTEC, City & Guilds)
- Experience in the glass industry, hot end I.S. machines
- Working on a call basis (experience or commitment to do so)
- O Level/GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Believes in and promote Health and Safety within workplace
- Promotes and is passionate about the values and standards of the business

- Share information and demonstrate respect to colleagues, customers and others within the working environment
