Shift Pattern:
Days (8.30 – 5.00 Monday – Thursday and 8.30 – 4.30 Friday)
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Oversee the transfer and processing operations at a waste management depot
- Drive the team to exceed KPI’s and minimise plant downtime
- Effectively manage the staff and deliver an engaged workforce
- Ensure that all regulatory and safety compliance is maintained
- Have a background in waste processing / transfer operations
- Site compliance and health and safety
- Set and manage departmental budgets
- Management of the on-site glass recycling plant
- Management of employees
- Set and control departmental targets/goals
- Set and control departmental standards and procedures
- Responsible for the sourcing of glass feed stock for the plant
- Create and set best practise processes for the plant
- Look to add value to the plant to improve output and quality on an ongoing basis
- Train on site staff in best practise and monitor
- Continuous training for all staff to maintain plant optimum output
- Day to day maintenance of all equipment
- Arrange service schedules of all equipment. Monitor and ensure work carried out to the required level.
- Data entry of all incoming and outgoing materials within a spreadsheet format.
- Approve weekly work sheets for all contracted staff
- Organise external contractors to carry out repair to equipment as required, following company guidelines.
- Take responsibility to complete and maintain all Health and safety Requirements including day to day working, Job safety Instructions, SOP’s and Risk Assessments.
- Load level and scheduling of deliveries
- Manage quality control of incoming/outgoing materials
- Any other reasonable duties as requested within skill set
Person Specification
- Ideally Waste Management & Recycling Operations
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ideally experience dealing with the Environment Agency
- IOSH/NEBOSH H&S qualifications would be beneficial
- Numerate and literate (GCSE or equivalent)
- WAMITAB qualified (training will be provided to achieve)
- PC literate
- Have basic problem solving ability
- Have a current valid fork truck license
- Process control diagnostics experience
- Ideally drawn up and managed PM Schedules
- Materials handling equipment knowledge
- Recognised apprenticeship in electrical/mechanical engineering qualifications
- Knowledge of spreadsheets and Word experience
